Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen & Sanders has been a proud member of ALFA International (formerly known as the American Law Firm Association ) since 1996. ALFA is an actively growing association of independent law firms. Originally started in 1980, it is the largest association of its type in the United States and provides the benefits of a "national law firm" without prejudice to the independence of its individual member firms. 

ALFA is a non-profit organization composed of 125 independent member law firms located in over 95 major metropolitan American cities and many countries world wide. Member firms of ALFA are also located in Puerto Rico, Canada, England, France, Austria, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, South Africa, Guatemala, Republic of Panama, and Australia. The fields of law represented by ALFA's member firms cover every significant legal practice area, both litigation and transactional. The firms vary in size according to the market served. 

Membership in ALFA is by invitation only. Many familiar and prominent names in the legal profession are members. The principals and senior partners of many of the ALFA firms are highly active in the American Bar Association and other major legal organizations and have been senior officers, including president, of state and national organizations. 

National efforts by ALFA firms to provide legal services at competitive rates are attractive to a wide variety of potential clients who are searching for competent and effective legal services at reasonable costs. Many of these opportunities are in both the litigation and transactional areas of practice. 

ALFA sponsors an Annual International Client Seminar, where each firm invites one or more clients with regional, national, or international legal service responsibility and scope. In addition, ALFA has specialty practice groups which sponsor specific industry seminars throughout the year. The specialty practice groups have presented seminars in Product Liability, Retail Premises Liability, Transportation and Trucking Industry Litigation, Pharmaceutical/Chemical and Medical Device Litigation, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Workman's Compensation, Construction, American's With Disabilities Act, Commercial/Business Litigation, Health/Accident & Life Insurance.
