John Lanning

John received a Bachelor of Science with a major in accounting and a minor in Mandarin Chinese at Saint Louis University in Missouri. He also studied abroad for a time at the Saint Louis University campus in Madrid, Spain. John received his Juris Doctor at William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he served as a staff writer for the William & Mary Business Law Review, and as Chairman of Fundraising for the Art & Cultural Heritage Law Society. John also served as Treasurer of the Virginia Law Related Education Institute, a non-profit organization headquartered in Newport News, Virginia.

During his time in law school, John spent a summer as a Veterans Advocacy Intern at the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic in Williamsburg, assisting veterans with claims for disability compensation. In 2018, he was a Law Clerk for the Republican National Committee researching legal issues facing the general counsel’s office. In 2019, he traveled to Pristina, Kosovo to work as an Election Policy Research Intern for Democracy for Development.

At AT&S John’s practice is focused on medical malpractice defense. Away from the office, his interests include travel and hiking.
