Michael Anthony John Kustra

Michael practices civil litigation defense with an emphasis in transportation law, product liability, and personal injury, as well as corporate law, transactional law, estate planning, and commercial litigation.

Michael attended college at the University of Manitoba, earning a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree with a double major in Finance and Accounting. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he graduated fourth in his class, Magna Cum Laude, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.

During law school, Michael held many leadership roles, including, among others, serving on both the North Dakota Law Review Board of Editors and the University of North Dakota’s Moot Court Board. He competed in three national Moot Court competitions, a national trial competition, and was elected to the Order of the Barristers for his excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

Michael was also a judicial extern to the Honorable Ralph R. Erickson and the Honorable Alice R. Senechal in the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Prior to law school, Michael was a journeyman bricklayer and owned and operated his own commercial bricklaying company.
