Personal:
Alexis M. Bornhoft is an
associate at Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen & Sanders practicing in
both family law and transactional law, including
corporations, partnerships, collections, asset protection, estate planning,
real estate and homeowners’ associations matters.
Alexis received her
Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004 from Point Loma Nazarene University.
She graduated cum laude and with honors, majoring in business administration
with a concentration in marketing. She participated in the Honors Program at
Point Loma by creating a marketing plan for the School of Business.
Alexis went on to attend
law school at California Western School of Law receiving her Juris
Doctorate, cum laude, in 2009, with a concentration in Children, Family, and
Elder Law. During law school, Alexis made the Dean's List 2007-2009,
received the State Bar of California Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono
Legal Services, the American Jurisprudence Award for Medical Malpractice
Litigation, and was a recipient of the Dean's Merit Scholarship for Ethnic
and Cultural Diversity, and the Creative Problem Solving Scholarship.
She also served as the President of the Child, Family and Elder Law Society,
was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society, and participated in a summer
abroad program in Galway, Ireland where her studies focused on International
and Comparative Human Rights Law.
In the Fall of 2008,
Alexis served as a Certified Legal Intern at the San Diego Alternate Public
Defenders Office, Juvenile Division, and, in the Spring 2009, she was a
judicial extern for the San Diego Superior Court.
Alexis enjoys
outdoor activities, playing sports, traveling, visits to San Diego to see
family and friends, and weekend trips to the mountains for snowboarding.
