JONATHAN B. OWENS

Personal:

      Jonathan B. Owens accepted a partnership with the firm in April 2005. His area of practice focuses in products liability, premise liability, insurance coverage, and transportation law. Jon’s clients include AutoZone, Big Lots!, Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Goodyear Tire, CR England, Vanliner Insurance, and Great West Insurance, among others. Jon litigates cases both in Federal Court and in the State Court of Nevada.

      Following service in the United States Marine Corps, Jon attended Utah State University where he received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Political Science in 1996. Three years later in 1999, he graduated from the University of Utah College of Law with his Juris Doctorate. While enrolled at the University of Utah, Jon was active in both Law Review and Moot Court. He first worked with Alverson, Taylor, Mortensen & Sanders as a summer law clerk following his second year of law school, then returned to Las Vegas and the firm following his graduation.

      Born in the State of Idaho, Jon grew up living in Washington, Louisiana and Utah. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, target shooting, and motorcycle riding.

      He is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, American Bar Association, and the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). Jon has spoken on numerous occasions on trucking and transportation law issues, and contributed to ABA, DRI and ALFA publications on transportation, punitive damages, and products liability issues.
